AvtoVAZ withdraws 9,311 Lada Xrays on possible steering problems

MOSCOW, Feb 15 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ has withdrawn 9,311 Lada Xray cars produced in January–May 2019 due to possible problems with steering control, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology said in a statement on Monday.

"The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology notifies of agreement on a program of voluntary withdrawal of cars under the Lada brand. 9,311 Lada Xray cars produced in the period from January to May 2019 are to be withdrawn,” the statement read.

”The reason for withdrawal is possible damage in the welding joint of the electro-mechanic power steering."
